Sharing the Joy of Christ

Sunshine Club
Members and their guests are 55 years or age and older. They meet the 3rd Thursday of the month, April-December. The business/organizational meeting is followed by entertainment in the form of a speaker, activity or outing that may be service related or educational in nature, but always done in good fellowship. The club sponsors Wednesday morning breakfast gatherings year-round. The “Helping Hands” ministry is a service project of this group.

Marvel Linnan was elected President, Bob Gehrke is the Finance Officer (Treasurer), Elaine Gehrke keeps account of what is going on and writes about it in a book (Secretary) and Arleen Alles is our cheer person.  She keeps our sick and birthday people happy by sending cards.  Our first planned activity is a visit to the Glider Museum on Cass St. in Greenville followed by lunch after the tour.

Fellowship Hour
After each Sunday worship service, beverages and light refreshments are served in the fellowship hall in the lower level of First Congregational Church. This serves both body and soul by providing friendly conversation along with treats to help maintain our focus during the busy morning worship service schedule.

Wednesday Nights
Wednesday evenings are an opportunity to keep our week centered in Christ and in community with our church family. . At 7:00 p.m. a short worship service, including Holy Communion, is held in the sanctuary at St. Paul Episcopal Church. Youth Confirmation classes or other activities may follow.

Eucharistic Ministry

Ministers continue to take communion to members not able to join us at the Lord's Table in church.  If you become unable to attend church for an extended time, either call or have someone else call the church office at 616 754-6676 or Russell Lincoln at  616 754-0835.  Currently our Eucharistic ministers are bringing communion to the following people who are not able to join us on Sunday mornings:  Maxine Bacon, Sheila Block, Elsie& Paul Campeau, Mona Petersen, Beatrice Worden and Elvira Christensen.
