Spotlight on...Helping Hands

You may not hear much about this committee at St. Paul as there is a great need for members.  Helping Hands is a very “helpful” committee.  The general function is to assist others with whatever needs they may have.  Perhaps they are in need of transportation to a doctor or the grocery store. Maybe someone needs a prescription filled or assistance post surgery.  Maybe your car broke down and you need a ride somewhere.  Whatever the need you may have, this committee is designed to fulfill that need.

Currently the members are Dave and Pat Gillett, Bob and Elaine Gehrke, Russ Lincoln and Ken Schoenfelder.  Some of these members are snowbirds during the winter months.  We can always use more “helping hands”.  If you are interested in helping in this area, or if you are in need of services, please call the office at 616.754.6676.

“We Have 20 Seconds” St. Paul Welcomes Marketing Coach

On February 18, 2012 Carla Kocher, BA, MPA comes to St. Paul with her “We Have 20 Seconds: Low-Cost Sunday Morning Outreach” seminar. This 2-hour workshop will provide practical, positive suggestions to help us make the best “first impression” that we can on visitors and guests.

In addition to those first 20 Seconds, Carla will provide tips on increasing our visibility within the community and on our website, making each visit to St. Paul Lutheran Church a church experience that people will want to share, which will help us turn visitors into members.

This 120 minute seminar is designed for congregational members who are interested in welcoming, worship and spreading the Good News. Check with Evangelism Committee Members, Pastor or Beth Ann Johnson if you have questions. The Seminar starts at 9:30 am with registration and refreshments at 9:00 am. There will be a Free Will Offering taken to help defray expenses.

Use the RSVP form found in your weekly bulletin and place it in the basket at the Welcome Table once you have filled it out.
